Fantasy story - Love in arranged marriages

Characters Intro -
Sindhu from Andhra completed her M-tech and looking for a suitable job. She loves her parents and wants to enjoy every bit of life. Sindhu's father Vinod who had settled well in his business now always dreams of his one and only loving daughter's marriage. Priya is a lovable wife to Vinod and takes good care of their small family. On the other side Surya is the only son of Suresh and Parvathi. Surya a handsome-28 has owned a good Indian style restaurant at Paris and rarely visits India only for the sake of his parents. Now see how Sindhu falls in love with Surya.

Suresh and Vinod are childhood friends and unexpectedly they met each other at a city club during an MP's honorable ceremony. Soon they started to talk about many things in their 20 years of separation. Finally suresh invites Vinod and his family to his place for dinner and leaves the party that night. After reaching home Vinod tells to Priya every thing that had happened in the party and also expresses how happy he is, to meet Suresh after so many years at the party. Priya also felt happy about their meet. She's happy that Suresh had invited them and is eager to see Parvathi as well.

Vinod's family @ Suresh's house for dinner -
They exchanged greetings. Parvathi hugged Priya and enquired about Sindhu's arrival. Suresh-Parvathi are so happy for their arrival. Parvathi made every arrangement to make them comfortable. They all enjoyed the evening recollecting their old memories. Vinod was very happy by their hosting. They completed the dinner and now itz Vinod's turn to invite but he did not do so, as he had something else in his mind.

@Vinod's house-
Next day morning Vinod started with reading a newspaper. Priya has come offering him coffee. He took the coffee and started sipping and about to say something to Priya, but she started "what happend with you today, why your looking so happy"
Vinod - "Just wanted to propose you"
Priya - "What silly words u are getting in this age? "
Vinod - "Kidding but really there is one nice thing in my mind to share with you"
Priya - "hmm i know what it would be. It is related to some share market investments being doubled and etc....but vinodji i am not ready to listen to such stuff.....i have so much to-do work in the kitchen"  Priya turned away but Vinod stopped her saying, but it is about Sindhu's marriage.
Vinod - "See tell me your opinion on Suresh's family and his son Surya"
Priya - "WOW great idea. Sindhu will be happy if such in-laws come. Financially also they seemed doing good. But we did not see Surya directly except in some photos. How can we come to a decision. "
Vinod - "Stop there dear. First Suresh should feel good about the alliance"
Priya - "I am confident they will like our proposal and even Sindhu"
Vinod - "Ok then I will talk with Suresh, mean while you just ask Sindhu about her opinion on getting married"
Priya - "She is 24 now and why should she say a no"

Vinod called Suresh and told him what he has in his mind. Suresh doubled his happiness saying i will be lucky if i get a brother-in-law like you, and Surya's decission would be final. Vinod adds to that saying, definitely Sindhu and Surya should like each other. We should not force them in any way. Vinod couple invites Suresh & Parvathi that evening for formally visiting Sindhu.
Priya says Oh God lot of arrangements to be done for this evening and she starts on working with preparing the hall.
Vinod - "Dont worry every thing goes well but where is Sindhu"
Priya - "She hurriedly rushed to her art class at 8 this morning. Special class she said. Today they are going to teach about sand painting and by evening she will gift me a good painting of krishna ji she told."
Vinod - "(worriedly)Evening! Call on her mobile and ask her to be here by sharp 3PM"
Priya - "She will bounce on me if i say to come early, because someone is coming to see her. I request you to handle this"
Vinod - "hmm how to make my daughter understand marriage is more important than any other thing in life? Priya, let her come in the evening only. We will tell her slowly. This is not a matter to convince on phone. Ask her to come before 6 PM that's it".

Evening 5:45 and Suresh couple came by then. Vinod welcomed them with a big smile but Priya is tensed as Sindhu has not returned home. Vinod offered them to sit and Priya has got them some snacks, fruits, sweets to eat.  Sindhu came, parked her pep and came running towards door in excitement, shouting "maaa see what I got for you. Your favorite Krishna's art". Priya went to Sindhu hurriedly "Stop now! guests at home. Go to your room and fresh-up. I will come and see this painting at your room only"
Sindhu with a worried expression for her nonsense & gave a smile to the guests and went to her room. Priya also follwed her. "Mom who are they".
Priya - "Suresh Uncle! your dad's best friend. You saw them when you are at 4 years of age. Yesterday we went to their place only, and you have given some silly reason to escape"
Sindhu - "oh( smirkingly ).........so today they have come (giggling) and so you asked me to come soon. now i understood".
Priya - "Shut up silly girl(catching her nose)! they are here to see you and now wear a good dress and get ready quickly. I will get you there"
Sindhu - "Means??"
Priya - "Yes! if they are okay with you then, Surya their son will come to see you and you both have to decide further"
Sindhu - "Mom suddenly what is this?(angrily) I am not prepared at all? I want to enjoy some more time!"
Priya - "See sindhu, Suresh's family is sweet. We too did not expect this, it happend suddenly(in convincing mode). Still there is lot of process to happen. Surya has to come as he is in Paris now. You both should like each other. Don't be tensed, see how happy your father is today, dont spoil the mood and see how you will like Parvathi aunty once you start talking with her. Finally every thing will go according to your wish and we will not force you". (it seemed the words worked well on her daughter so she added) "I had seen Surya in photos. He is handsome don't worry on that part".
Sindhu - "Mom.....I am going to kill you once they leave".

Sindhu has come and Suresh couple are happy to see Sindhu as a grown up girl after many years. As it is more like a get-to-gather Sindhu also felt a bit comfortable. They completed the dinner and then Sindhu left to her room. Suresh before leaving tells that they are happy for Sindhu and says she will be a perfect jodi for his son. Parvathi also adds saying till now we did not think of their son's marriage but after all this happening we are eager for his wedding to happen soon. We will ask Surya to come India this month so that he can meet Sindhu and tell his opinion. Suresh then asks for a photo copy of Sindhu, (to add humor he says)so that Surya will come fast to India if he likes the photo. Also here is a photo of Surya to give it to your daughter. All of them laughed and Suresh couple left for the day.

Suresh calls Surya and asks him to come India and tells him everything that has happened in the past 2 days. Surya has fallen half-sick listening to the whole story of his marriage plans and then tells his father, because of the festive season it will be hard to make some time to India and that too for a girl he cant give-up all the month's business. Suresh yells saying you have to come to keep my word and tries convincing his son to come because the girl and the family are very good. Suresh confidently adds he will mail him the photo of the girl and after looking at that take a decision to come or not. Finally after lot of nudging from Suresh, Surya accepts to come.

Surya came to India. Parvathi is happy to see his son after a long time. She catches Surya's ear asking how he is in India after seeing the picture of the girl as he rejected to come initially. Surya in pain says Mom I came to see you only and to keep Dad's promise given to Vinod uncle. See I liked the photo but I still have to see and talk with her directly and then only I can decide further. Ok then, after 2days is a good day then you can go to Vinod's house to see Sindhu, Suresh concludes. He soon calls Vinod and informs about the same.

Sindhu@art class -
Class is about to start in few minutes and the girls started to chit-chat. Abhigna shindu's best friend, and called as Abhi(new character).
Abhi - "Where is that Paris hero photo."
Sindhu - "Shut up. Don't call him hero."
Abhi - "Ok! cool."
sindhu - "See this is the one! Mom will kill me if she knew i bought this photo here with me. Just got it because i am not able to bear your nu-sense daily."
Abhi - "KEWW! he is sooo good. and what's wrong with you to accept him"
Sindhu - "USH! this is only a photo we dunno how he looks in real"
Abhi - "Then meet him in real!"
Sindhu - "Ha! he is coming to my house after 2 days"
Abhi - "Then what! did you run any love story behind me? I am shouting at my parents to get me married. See how good your parents are. You should be happy."
Sindhu - "Enough! Firstly I am not prepared for marriage. I am not able to digest how I should be at some-others house, leaving my parents. God! cooking is another eligibility for marriage. I have to miss all this fun with friends etc and many things. I am still my father's daughter and cannot imagine as someone else wife"
Abhi - "Ohhhhh then I will see weather you will say all this once you meet the guy"
Sindhu - "You are going to get nice kicks from me after this class. For you all my pain seems funny huh"
Abhi -   'Lite then! Every thing goes well don't worry! You meet him once and if you feel like "no" tell the same to your parents. But if you feel like "yes" all is well and don't forget to give him at-least a flying kiss"
Sindhu - "Youuuuu."
Abhi - "Mam has come so keep quite now"

INTREMISSION - you have read a lot of story by now and just take a deep breath and relax for a sec, don't worry climax scene will come soon.

2 Days later@Vinod's House
Priya, Vinod & Sindhu completed their breakfast. That day was Sunday and Sindhu has no art class. Soon Vinod reminded Priya and Sindhu that today @ 11 Surya will be here and we need to get ready for that. Sindhu left to her room without speaking a word. Priya assured Vinod every thing will be okay and not to worry much. Priya entered Sindhu's room.
Priya - "Sindhu I know you are a bit disturbed as everything is sudden for you."
Sindhu - "(shouting mode)Then give me some time. Why all this arrangements"
Priya - "Why are you worrying so much? Consider him as your classmate and talk with him for few minutes. If you don't want to speak then take him out to some place nearby as he is new to the place"
Sindhu - "Hello Priya ji, he is not imported from Paris, he should be knowing our city well"
Priya - "No dear! i mean that he wouldn't be familiar with our area as his house is located at richmond circle. Don't carry this mood when he is here. He should not get any bad impression of my daughter."
Sindhu - "Okay, But how we should go? On my pep me riding and he sits at my back?"
Priya - "No! he will be driving and you will sit beside him in the car"
Sindhu -"So you have pakka screen-play with you. Now give me some dialogues sheet also."
Priya - "Oh God the thought of helping you is also a tedious task, how any guy will tolerate with this girl in future."
Sindhu - "Ok mama! Now leave and give me time to prepare." she started reading a magazine to get diverted form her fear and Priya left as she has to prepare something for the boy.

11:10 AM and Vinod got a call form Surya inquiring about the address and Vinod instructed him clearly where exactly he has to come. The couple invited Surya and to some extent he remembered Vinod. Priya called out for Sindhu. They asked Surya to take his seat in the Sofa located in the middle of the hall. Vinod after asking some questions related to the restaurant business at Paris, left the hall saying he will come back in 10 minutes. Sindhu came and Priya left to bring something form the kitchen. Sindhu is trying hard to get a glance of Surya as her head is still down. Surya broke the silence saying a "hi". Finally our heroine gets a chance to see the hero and surprisingly she was impressed at her first sight and also wishes him back a "hello". She felt a bit relived and came sat on the sofa chair. Priya came offering some coffee and snacks. Surya have them and feel comfortable, I had seen you long back when you are a kid but now you are big enough who is managing a business of  his own. Your parents are very proud for you, but they are missing you a lot. Yes aunty, am also at back of them asking every time to come there with me, but they don't like that idea. Ya it will be tough for them to get adjusted there as they are used to be here, she ended the topic there saying "okay now I am leaving to the kitchen as this is the time for you both to get talking with each other".

Priya left and again silence prevailed in. After 2 minutes it is again Surya who broke the silence asking "how is India?".
Sindhu - (I thought he would start-up something wiser, he wants me to draw an India map now or what).  "Hotter than Paris :)"
Surya -  (laughing) "bad question na? but I did not know how to start the convo better. How about going for a short drive Sindhu? It would be much better for us to speak-up"
Priya - "Good idea Surya. Sindhu take him to the ice-cream parlour near-by". Priya did not leave any bit of chance.
(water in Sindhu's mouth on hearing the word ice-cream, she is controlling her self since a month as it would add more calories, but she did not liked the idea of going with Surya) Sindhu nodded.
Our heroine in the car with hero beside him driving the car.
Sindhu - "Once reaching the main road take a left, and it is about a kilometer from there" Surya listened to every word coming out form her and her voice was so sweet. He took a glance of 2 sec on her admiringly. "God!! itz a dog, see and drive" Sindhu shouted touching his shoulder. Dog was saved but something magic started inside her because of the touch. Sindhu felt bad and took the hand away form his shoulder.
Sindhu - "Sorry I was in Panic"
Surya - "No that's absolutely fine, I should have been more careful"
Sindhu to herself  "what is happening with you. Why did you say a 'sorry' firstly. (taking a deep breath) be cool now".
Sindhu - (suddenly)"Stop here! it has come"
She had shown him where to get the car parked. Then they entered the parlor and had chosen a table and sat there. On their left side some music show is going on the TV. A waiter has come with the menu card wished them a Good Morning with big smile and left. For 5 minutes they have spoken about their friends and about their daily routines. Then Surya asked for what she wanted on the menu. A belgium chocolate scoop topped with some choco-chips she told. Surya called for the waiter and ordered for the same, and also one chocloate fantasy for him. They are more comfortable now while taking with each other. Ice-cream came and some more convo went on between them. They took 20 min to complete.
Surya - "what else then sindhu? Whats your opinion on our meet?"
2min of silence.
Sindhu - "Ya its nice."
Surya - "Ok then i don't want to drag much and coming to the point now. Before coming here I felt that marriage funda is not easy for me because, I am a person who cannot adjust to some new environment and persons easily. And that too adjusting for a girl, itz impossible with me. But when I first saw you I felt like, for this girl I can adjust to some extent. But after being with you and speaking with you all this time I felt like, I can do any thing to see a smile on your face"
Sindhu started blushing, but she managed to some extent not to show that on her face. Added to this on the TV Ishq movie song started, where Nithin sings khadal ina neekosam,  prema ina neekosamShe couldn't help but started laughing. She pointed to the TV for him also to see. Both of them laughed.
Surya - "Ok stop for now and tell me what is on yourside".
Sindhu - "No doubt I feel that you are a cool person than me and I also felt like I can be comfortable with you as I am with my parents now".
Surya - "Cool then."
Sindhu - (she almost said an okay and now not able to hold her breath) "So we shall leave now as mom would be waiting for us"
Surya called for the waiter to get the bill and they left the place. Priya saw them returning happily. Surya left saying "bye" to Sindhu, Priya and Vinod.

Both the fathers shared the good news and fixed-up a date for engagement @ Vinod's house itself. Abhi and some of her other friends came to Sindhu's house congratulating her and asked for a party.  Sindhu looked very happy that day. Abhi teased Sindhu remembering her words at the art class. After engagement marriage plans and preparations had started. Surya decided to return back to Paris only after marriage and all other rituals. He called his manager Samuel to take care of every thing till he is back. The young couple got 30 more days to understand each other more, before marriage. They used to talk with each other on phone mostly. Sometimes they used to get a chance to meet but with lot of permissions involved. They completed all the marriage shopping together. As each day is passing they felt like they are getting more closer and finally they are in love. On the day before marriage Sindhu thanked Vinod and Priya for finding such a nice guy and family for her. That is a moment for sentiment and every one in Vinod's family are in tears of happiness. Marriage is over and every one is happy now.

Next day @ Vinod's house.
Vinod couple decided to stay at a different place for the evening and to leave the house for the new couple's privacy. Hmm so it is their first night and i am leaving all the imagination to the readers on how their journey would be further and ending my story here.

My comments on the story -
Most of the matrimonial alliances does not end-up as sweet as I mentioned here. There would be clashes, fighting,  dowry matters, nudging and grudging, waiting long for either side opinions...etc. I just mentioned an imaginative case here where an arranged marriage has good things like giving high preference for the girl/boy to give their opinion, no traditional stupid questions for the girl/boy during the match fix-ups, allowing the girl and boy to talk with each other for some time,  no dowry ...etc. If there is any lucky person who had faced a good experience comment here so that we can also feel good. Wishing Best Luck for all the bachelors and spinsters as you have to face all this arranged marriage drama in future.
Please spare me if you got bored after reading my story :)

Best recipe on Chilly Panner Chinese I had read on the internet.

I tried this one and it came absolutely good. I choosed Amul's Milky Mist for my preparation.

Must to follow instruction mentioned in the recipe is to "fry paneer in hot oil over a high flame until golden brown" . This made my paneer yummy ever.

My College days - 4th year

Prologue
Note: Before reading this blog, you must go through this one My College days -3rd year

Story!
I am now in my Final Year of engineering course. In our class everyone is big now and so we have less number of subjects and so more time for case studys & projects. We are supposed to submit a term paper by the end of our first semester and  a project work is awaiting for the next semester. All this is to be done as a team and not in single. So our class is divided into teams  and because of this only our class boys and girls got some interaction. Here is my team with whom I should work further.
Y3CS265 - Sandeep Kolli
Y3CS279 - Sowjanya Tadepalli
Y3CS285 - Sruthi Chandaluru
Y3CS319 - Sneha Jain
Team mentor would be VKR - Vuyyuru Krishna Reddy
A list of topics were kept at our notice board and we need to choose one for our case study. We opted for "Image Compression Techniques". Every week we need to give a presentation on how much we proceeded on the case study.

All this would happen only with the help of  internet and so I convinced my parents to get a computer and net connection at home.We used Google search to collect the information and yahoo chat will help to do the work as a team. The day before to give the presentation I used to prepare the slides, when i get any doubt I used to check with Sandeep. After completing the presentation I used to take a deep breath and circulate the same to everyone in the team. Next day I will explain the slides to the team at lunch session. Before that Sneha would check with me weather I had completed the ppt and used to assure me not to worry on how the presentation would happen that day. Every one in the class used to wait for Sneha's turn to come to give the presentation. She used to make a lot of comedy on the dais.

We are done with the term paper. Completed the formatting as per the mail sent by our HOD( SV ). We ordered it for printing and book is ready. We need to get it signed by our HOD now. Some print mistake on the book cover which we noticed only before entering HOD's room. He completed our VIVA and about to sign the book. Oh my god tiger SV noticed that mistake on the cover. He shouted us but gave us one day time to get it corrected. Finally Term paper was submitted successfully under the supervision of VKR by our team though some confusion has happened at last moment.

Internet at home should be utilized well by students, but that rarely happens as students like to chat and spend lot of time on networking websites. Same happened with me too. I already had a job in my hand and so two horns already on my head always saying enjoy now, enough of studies. I started spending lot of time on Orkut. 15K were my scraps count. Special one's like 1000th, 5000th, 10000th were done by Swathi. Sometimes me and swathi use to chat in orkut instead of yahoo to increase our scrap count. Because of Orkut & Yahoo I was able to make some friends in boys also. We are in scraps mania while many of my classmates are busy preparing for GRE/GATE. That year Chandana, Sujana and Swathi had presented me a hand made greeting card which resembles my orkut profile. It was very beautifully done and still it is safe with me now.

My mom was vexed up with my internet usage. She gave me two options;
One - preparing for GRE and go for higher studies
Two - Getting married after my fourth year.
First I felt option '1' is better, but god GRE preparation means I have to by-heart a book full of meanings. I got the GRE book. On day one I learned my first 100 meanings. Day two I need to start from 101 but I forgot all the day one's learning. I then decided option '2' is better and gave-up my GRE studies. From then I used to admire Usha's brain for remembering so many meanings.

Added to internet addiction, I had Sony Ericsson W550i mobile in my hand which was a gift from my parents. It was like "a coconut in a monkeys hand". I loved listening songs and even singing them too. I used to download latest songs into my mobile and enjoy the music when ever free time in the classroom also. I also had an experience where I was caught by a lecturer in the class for listening to songs during his lecture. Still our batch of seven enjoyed the same way as in third year. Bunking classes & going to movies on the release date are the additional things we had learned this year.

Our final year project time has come now. Me and Sandeep went to Vision technologies to get some project ideas. We selected our project to be as JAVA IDE. We will get the project kit also if we pay 6000 bugs. It contains every thing Abstract, Documentation, Flow-charts, Use case diagrams, Test cases, Code...etc. I improvised this kit a lot. I completely scraped the code given and started developing it my-self as I had good interest on coding. All Diagrams, test cases were re-done according to my new code. It came out quite well than the one provided by Vision. Sandeep used to help me in reviewing my work and other things as he is not much interested in the coding stuff. We need to give weekly presentations here also. I tried involving Sowjanya and Sneha also where ever possible. Finally we are done with and submitted our project successfully. This time our HOD was VKR. Every thing went on smoothly this time.

I sold out my improvised project kit for 3000 bucks at Vision. They did not agree to pay more than that because the whole idea of JAVA IDE belongs to them. Ok I am convinced. But after all this process Sandeep owed me 500 bucks and Swathi is the witness. So dear Y3CS batch if any one helps me getting that 500 will get half of the share :-).

Regards
Sruthi

Epilogue
Farewell day was the most memorable day. Every one attended in a traditional wear ofcourse for boys itz not possible. Sujana received MISS CSE title. Lecturers and juniors organised the event very well. Every thing I remembered during my college days makes me happy except that, the time wasted by me on Orkut. I could have utilized that time in a better way.

Relationship

Every relationship has to end at some point. Some would be there for us till our death, but some want to drop in middle. So there is no point in worrying about people who want to go away from you. It is a pain some times but if the relation has to break-up there let it go.

Found out some good tips here on how to overcome the pain

A small artist in me :-)

Pencil sketch done by me on a book few months back! Attaching a snap of it.

I am satisfied with the outcome; but can be made much better.

Hard Days @ WIN Tech! Trying to make them well

Prologue
All this narration is related to my experience at an MNC where I joined as a fresher. I mentioned the name here as WIN Tech instead of the original name.

Real Story
2008; Those were my days at Chennai. I went there to start my career as a project engineer at WIN Tech  after completing my intense training program of 3 months at Bangalore. Training days were the best in my total journey with WIN Tech . It was training on SAP ABAP with a class room strength of 40 people. We all were reporting to a tough guy but our class mentor Sagar was quite cool person. There was also a test to judge on how well we followed the program. Only people who scored more than 70% are going to continue with WIN Tech  further. I am quite confident that I will do the test and also did it. We were soon given our posting locations after we are done with our test.

Not sure about others but I was shocked to see my posting location as Chennai. Me and my husband(working at Freescale, Bangalore) were so upset as we had started our journey as a cute little family in Bangalore. We started doing attempts from our side to face the situation. We both together drafted a mail to my manager requesting for a change in my posting location as Bangalore and awaiting for a positive reply. I was asked to meet him personally at his desk. I made all the courage and went to meet him. Sarika his assistant asked me to wait for a couple of minutes at the conference room. Next she arranged a conference call with him and the summary of this call was "corporate people should be ready to work at any place and marriage is a mean reason to ask for a transfer". He also added that he was not staying with his family who were in Kerala and also did not request for any transfer. Oh god what the hell ! Just because he doesn't stay with his family he is asking me to do the same? I did not request for any thing big! I am just a trainee and asked for my posting location to be in Bangalore and it has a valid reason. It is just some excel work for him and he could even ask Sarika to do that. But he was so stubborn to reject.

Now I have no other option left over except to leave Siva and go report at Chennai. Either my parents or in-laws,me or my husband were not happy. All the reporting details were clearly mailed by Sarika. My friends Swathi and Chandana were already there at Chennai and so no accommodation problem. They promised my husband on that and to take care of me well. With their help I was able to reach to office first day on time.

At office I was happy to see some of my friends whom I know them at training and we all have to report to Krishna to proceed further. Here again his assistant Vidya spoke to us. She briefed us on the bench training program which we will be going through for 2 months and we are going to meet Krishna only tomorrow because he was busy that day. She took our details and entered them into an excel sheet. She allocated a desk and a system to each of us and said that we can leave for the day as there is no work and also it is our first day.

Every one was surprised to here the word "training" again as we expected that we will be allocated into some project. Bench training program was introduced only with our batch and it is only for candidates posted to Chennai and not for all. After reaching home I discussed all my day's experience with Siva on phone.

Next day we had a small meeting with Krishna in a conference room. He is a giant personality and his furious voice was an added bonus to him as any one would fear speaking before him. He spoke like a head master and we all gazed at his speech without even turning our heads. At last he asked if we have any concerns, and we could do nothing but nod our heads. I wanted to say I have one i.e. getting my posting location changed. But I could hardly speak anything. Everyone are waiting to take a deep breath after he leaves the room. But before leaving he inquired
"Who is Sruthi Chandaluru"
My heart started beating fast. Why he was asking about me? I raised my hand like a child. He sharply looked into my eyes and asked me
"So you were the one who was asking for a transfer"
Me: Yes.
Krishna: See Sruthi a fresher getting a good project at Bangalore is quiet hard. I will check if they are any.
Me: OK.
Krishna: It will help you if you stay in Chennai at-least for an year and then think of Bangalore.
He left the room giving me a dirty look. I had a couple of questions in my mind running.
How it will help me if I stay here in Chennai? What about my friends who directly got posted to Bangalore?
Is he ready to give me a transfer or he wants me to wait for one year?
One year is a huge time for me and Siva. Every day me and Siva used to have a long conversation on phone once we reached home. When in office the calls used to be short.

We were soon involved into this bench training program. Our ODC is quite huge with lot of project teams, all under supervision of Krishna. We had a pantry just a few steps away from our ODC. Krishna had a manager cabin in our ODC. He walks through the whole ODC with tak tak footsteps to reach his cabin. Someone who is alert would mention about his arrival and every one would maintain pin-drop silence then.  Once he settles in his cabin then we can hear buzzing again.

We were given 10 assignments and a schedule sheet in which each assignment had a deadline date and to whom we have to submit for review. Added to this we need to submit a weekly development report. Every thing was strictly supervised by the bench training program head. By the end of this program we came to know a lot about Krishna. He is a tamil person and loves to be in the company of people from Kerala. He loves to be in Chennai & hates people who ask for a transfer from Chennai. So he hated me as well. But he did not get a chance to screw me as I did my assignments well and got a good feedback from the training program head.

We all were now allocated to projects. Every one except me were allocated to an upgrade project and it is being supervised by Krishna and they are going to work in the same ODC. I was allocated a bank project which is located in a separate block. I felt he kept me away as he hated me. My new ODC is quiet comfortable as there is no person here who is like a boss but my transfer approval authority was still in the hands of Krishna. Only thing I did not like here in my new project was 50% I need to work as a developer and 50% for PMO job(excel work). I used to jump to Bangalore when weekend arrives and come back to Chennai on weekdays for my boring work at  WIN Tech. This kind of shift system is quite hard to manage, and one gets to know about it only when experienced. Hoping no one should face such one especially when newly married.

8 months were over in Chennai now and still Krishna did not find a project for me in Bangalore. I went to meet him and asked about my transfer request status. I got the same old reply no vacancy in Bangalore. He offered me a chocolate when I am leaving his cabin. He wanted me to take this chocolate and keep my mouth shut for few more months?

1 month later with a big tragedy in my life where I escalated the issue and then I got my transfer approval from Krishna. I am happy that I will be back with Siva again. I went to his cabin again to thank for this but he shouted at me  "Get out and I am busy now". Oh god how on earth he can shout at a co-employee like this though he is a manager. I felt very bad about  him and WIN Tech then.

I returned to Bangalore and I am on bench now, Krishna tried to influence me here also by making sure that I don't get any project. What is he expecting? an apology? but why should I, it was him who screwed my life. One day I felt I have to stop all this and called him to ask for an apology. Before that I mailed him and he asked me to call. On call.
Me:  "I am Sruthi calling from Bangalore".
Krishna: "Who ? Who? I did not hear it properly"
Me: "I am Sruthi, I mailed you a few minutes back"
Krishna: "Oh it is Sruthi Chandaluru?" (he remembered my full name)
Me: "Yes. I am on bench right now and called you if you can do some help"
Krishna: "OK".
Call over. In the next few minutes a mail popped up. I was put into a project. I think he took my call as an apology and his ego was satisfied.

Form then I did not see back again. All my managers here in Bangalore are sweet. May be they are normal and seemed sweet because I am comparing them with Krishna. I also received an achievement award within my practice for my performance. One minute I felt like showing it to Krishna and tell him even if you screwed me I was able to get the award.

Finally my hard days were over. I felt so good to be at WIN Tech till the date I resigned.

Epilogue
Every one would get a question "Why you did not quit the company?"
I signed a bond with the company for 18 months on a huge amount. By the time the bond expired all my hard days were over:-;

My College days - 3rd year

Prologue
In 2005-2006

Story begins here!
Me persuing my bachelor degree just because I have to and there is no particualr goal behind it. I am in my 3rd year and I am an above average student in the class, with a good tinch of analytical thinking. I loved to write huge lines of code in 'c' language, so taught of becoming a SW engineer and opted for a computer course degree. I always felt happy as I am in the right course and it is according to my interest and also dreamt of a job which has work I like to do.

Sorry till now i did not mention my name, so my name is "Sruthi". I have parents who love me lot and also a sister who got married when i am a kid. My parents are with age old ideas as with any other parents. They do love me more if i dont have a boyfriend(winking my eye) and that is what I understood by the way they have dealt with my sister when she was doing her degree. And sure, I don't have any friends in boys as of now. My schooling was done in a missionary girls high school and that also could be one reason.

What all I do is rush up to college in the morning, have some good time with my batch, listen to the lectures even if boring or interesting and come back home, do home work if any or spend with my best-friend Swathi. All the day she was with me in college, even though we used to meet in our respected houses to spend more time. It would be mostly in her house. I did not maintain any other contacts with old school friends. To brief i am an introvert and some one has to push me back to spend some time for social events.

Wondering why people give any homework at a bachelor degree college? One reason should be that,  our college is a bit of reputed one and wants to be in the race  by hook or crook. Not only thats the reason, I had an age old Maths proffessor who likes me becasue I write my notes perfectly. I also like and respect him a lot. He used to give me extra work so that I could do well in my exams. I am one of the special noted student for him and so special homework.

And thanks to our college as it is ragging free, this is one of the reason for my parents opted this college. By the time we take some breath internals would come up, not much preparation required but students hate them because we have to face them as an exam and the marks would be counted for externals. Also these externals come so early without any studying in all the six months time and so mostly my external exams end up without any sleep. I will have sound sleep for long hours after all these exams are done so as to fill up my sleepless nights.

And time to introduce my gang with whom I hangover with at college. Bharathi, Chandana, Neharika, Sujana, Usha and Swathi as i said already. So a batch of 7 and we are given a title "7 wonders". No idea who gave it  but we accepted it as is. We used to have good fun and enjoy a lot.
Discuss study topics,
exchange lunch boxes,
attend each other birthdays, plan for surprise gifts,
take tips from super seniors regarding campus interviews,
go for a volleyball practice as Chandana and Neharika are good palyers,
sit in the lawns of our college when there are no classes spending some time with mango trees,
Usha some times goes mad with her GRE planning,
Singing sessions, anthyakshari...etc
and not much of gossiping as we are a good bunch of students.

In the same prototype my third year second semester was also done. But this time it was quite different at the end of sem as it was time for campus interviews. First company to visit was CTS and most of the cream were recruited and in our batch 5 of them got placement. To some of my lecturers and some of the co-students surprise I did not even got through the entrance test. Initially there was no guilt in me for not doing it but, one after one asking with wonder why I was not able to make it had induced some guilt. Me and Sujana in our batch are yet to get a job, and so we had strongly decided to make it up for the next company and we had done it. It was WIPRO's golden chance to get in both of us, CTS missed us was our feeling.

Meet you people again with final year matters which are quite more intersting.

I tried to make up things here in a humorous way and this is not to offend any one

No worries!

Most of the times in life we go for choices which we don't like. We may be in-need of either of these time, money, support, strength, & willpower to accomplish our wishes.

I started to put this here, as I felt alone and jobless due to my so called "house wife" job. I worked as a software engineer for more than 3 years and had given up to take care of my sweet lil baby(here I literally don't want to leave her with a maid and go for my work).

Now my baby is almost a year and I can go for a job now. But the reason was "me" for not being able to go for work outside.

  • I am worried that if I can manage work and household responsibilities
  • I am worried that if people around me can support
  • I am worried that I have to prepare and face an interview
  • I am worried that if my baby needs me for some more time
  • I am worried that I am not able to remember my SAP ABAP
  • I am worried that if I have to work for overtime

many more worries which i did not mention here, because you people may laugh at these silly reasons.

I will feel so lucky if I can overcome my worries and can go for my job again.

Regards
Sruthi.
